@4RED DWARF NEWS FILE
===================
@1
Just recieved my latest batch of info on the world of Red Dwarf, so I'll
pass some of it on to you guys.
@2ComedyCon.
==========
@1Presently Robert Lewellyn will NOT be attending ComedyCon, although
organisers are trying to get another Red Dwarf Guest of Honour.
@2Books, Books, Books.
====================
@1Speaking of Robert Lewellyn, his book "The Man In The Rubber Mask" will
be released in Oz in August 1994, as well as a book on the making of Red
Dwarf by Joe Nazzaro. Apparently, from reviews from the UK (where both
are already available) both books are definately worth a gander. Prices
are $12.95 and $16.95 respectively.
The third Red Dwarf Fiction novel "The Last Human" is due for release in
hardback so soon you can almost smell the ink. March '95 is the expected
date for paperback release.
An updated programme guide will be released in January '95.
@2TV series.
==========
@1The much talked about Red Dwarf Christmas special looks as though it will
not be produced. The BBC in the UK are so happy with the ratings of the
repeats of Red Dwarf that they don't think any new material should be
needed for the rest of 1994. The ratings have consistently been around
the 4.5 to 5 million viewers, with Series 2, byte 1 "Kryten" the best at
5.51 million viewers, and Series 3, byte 2 "Marooned" the worst at 4.44.
The new Grant Naylor sitcom "The 10%ers" is all go ahead with ITV in the
UK asking for episodes to be ready by the Northen Autumn, which apparently
shocked everyone involved with it. There has been a large ratings war
between ITV & BBC, and ITV reckon "The 10%ers" will help them along the
way!
Series 5 videos should be available in August some time.
Series 7 - well it seems no one has denied it, but 1995 looks like the
likely production start for the new series. No definate dates, but it
seems the rumoured fall outs between all concerned haven't actually
taken place. Rob and Doug are still good friends, and Chris Barrie
(Rimmer) is still happy to play the part, although he would like a
return to the old "pre SFX" days, and would like to have Rimmer be
less the butt of all the jokes. No mention of Ed Bye!
Cat - "All in all 100 percent successful trip"
Kryten - "But Sir we lost Mr Rimmer."
